Tasmanian Handmade Paper
Introducing a very special handmade paper studio in Tasmania's North West;
Award winning papermaker Joanna Gair will custom make you handmade stationery from plants and recycled fibres common to Australia.
Papers are authentically made using traditional wooden vats, hand cut fibres and ecological methods dating back to the first
century. Perfect for brides, artists and corporate gifts, infact any occasion where you need to make a lasting impression.
Joanna has been making, designing and pioneering handmade
paper for the past fifteen years. In 1999 she started Scotland’s first commercial handmade paper studio creating unique
papers from indigenous Scottish plants for niche tourism retailers, design houses and artisans. In 2004 Joanna emigrated to
Tasmania to manage Australia’s largest handmade paper mill. During this time she experimented with Australian plants
& fibres to create exciting new papers including the internationally renowned Roo Poo Paper TM
that earned her the Australian Memento Award for The Best Australian Retail Product 2006.
“My paper is a reminder of the poetry & provenance found in the most humble
of materials. More
& more we seek the handmade & one-of-a-kind; Pieces which hold-tight to tradition & have been made in harmony
with our surroundings."
